This week on my music page, I am going to be digger deeper on a musical Icon from my childhood days Maxi Priest. Every since I was young.. the sound of his sexual voice was very intriguing. I remember singing to songs of his like "Some guys have all the luck", "Close to You", "Wild World" and many many more.

Maxi Priest is a reggae singer and songwriter from England. He was born Max Alfred Elliot on June 10, 1960 in Lewisham, London. Maxi's uncle, Jacob Miller, was a reggae icon and the front man in the popular reggae group of the 80s Inner Circle. Maxi Priest is known as the "King of Lovers Rock".

Maxi's musical career began singing on the South London reggae sound system Saxon Studio International. His first major album came out in 1988; which was his self-entitled album which established him as one of the top British Reggae singers.

Maxi was the first international UK reggae artist to make it to the American Billboard Number One. His song "Close to You", released in 1990 on this "Best of Me" album is what got him there.
